Sub-Aqua Club is an award-winning SCUBA diving club located in Aberdeen, in the north-east of Scotland. With an active and friendly community, the club offers numerous diving opportunities throughout the year. Members have the chance to explore the beautiful coastline of Aberdeenshire, with its excellent shore diving sites boasting visibility of up to 20 metres. In addition to local dives, the club organises weekend or week-long trips to various destinations, such as Oban, Loch Fyne, Arran, Firth of Forth, Eyemouth, Scapa Flow, North Rona, and Capenwray.
As a member of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), Aberdeen Sub-Aqua Club provides courses and certifications for all levels of divers, from beginners to experienced individuals. The club boasts its own boats, compressors, and equipment that members can rent, ensuring convenience and availability for diving activities. The club welcomes experienced divers from all diving agencies, offering them the opportunity to dive at their current agency certification level without any crossover training required.
Aberdeen Sub-Aqua Club was established in 1958 and has since grown to include around 100 SCUBA diving members of various ages and qualification levels. It is one of the longest-established diving clubs in the North East of Scotland. The club has been recognised for its exceptional contributions to the growth and development of scuba diving, receiving the prestigious 2023 Heinke Trophy from the British Sub-Aqua Club.
For individuals new to diving, the club offers a Try Dive experience. This introductory session allows participants to learn how to assemble and use diving equipment before taking them for a dive in a swimming pool. The cost for a Try Dive session is 25, and if participants enjoy the experience, they can discuss further SCUBA diver training options with the club.
