Welcome to Abhedashram Yoga Meditation Centre located in Welshpool, Wales, UK. This serene and peaceful centre is dedicated to upholding and promoting the teaching, study, and practise of Yoga and Vedanta. The teachings at Abhedashram include Hatha Yoga, yogic meditation, Bhagavat Gita, Yoga Sutra of Patanjali, upanishads, and the Vedanta in the tradition of Sri Bhagavatpada Shankaracharyas Advaita.

Established in 1972 in the continent and in 1981 in Great Britain, Abhedashram is committed to enhancing physical and mental health and wellbeing in daily life. In recognition of its significant cultural importance, Yoga was inscribed as an Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO in 2016. The invaluable efforts and teachings of the esteemed founder, Shrimad Paramahamsa Parivrajakacharya Svami Sadananda Sarasvati, of the Sri Shankaracharya lineage, have made all our programmes and facilities possible.

At Abhedashram, everyone is welcome to join in our aim, lifestyle, and practise, regardless of caste, creed, colour, gender, age, religion, or nationality. Our charitable work extends to social upliftment, including physical and mental health and wellbeing, spiritual guidance and counselling, personal and community empowerment, housing provision, tackling poverty, hunger, and unemployment, as well as environmental projects.

We have made a positive impact on disadvantaged children and families, single parents, victims of domestic violence, drug and alcohol abuse, homeless and unemployed individuals, LGBT members, health care professionals, armed forces, police, and many others. As a registered charity in England and Wales with the registration number 1051590, we rely solely on devotees dakshina (donations), Hatha Yoga fees, programme fees, income from rentals, and everyone's selfless volunteering. None of the teaching here receives any form of financial compensation; we work fully on a Seva (voluntary) basis.

At Abhedashram, we offer various programmes and services to support physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. Our Hatha Yoga classes provide authentic Yoga practises for improving overall health. Effective meditation techniques are taught to aid spiritual progress. Retreats offer an immersive experience in practise, study, and seva.

Satsanga, or spiritual talks, provide teachings and guidance for spiritual aspirants. We are proud to carry on the authentic lineage of Yoga passed down through generations of yogis.

For those with children, we offer the Bala Vihar Children Programme, providing age-appropriate spiritual teachings and activities. Our upcoming events calendar is filled with opportunities to engage with the teachings and practises at the Ashram. Additionally, we actively participate in community events, teaching in temples, communities, international yoga days, and abroad.

Abhedashram also provides self-catering accommodation for those looking to immerse themselves in the Ashram's peaceful environment. Our apartments are designed to create a tranquil space for meditation, relaxation, and contemplation. The retreat centre offers an ideal setting for individuals or groups seeking a dedicated space for self-reflection and spiritual growth.

We prioritise inclusiveness and maintain an open policy for all individuals who wish to join us in their journey towards physical, mental, and spiritual wellbeing. In addition, we have been providing affordable housing for over 20 years, ensuring that individuals have access to safe and comfortable accommodation.
