The Foundation was created in 1990 by the Late Governor of NSW, Sir David Martin, who had a dream of “safety, hope, and opportunity for all young Australians”.
While in office, Sir David witnessed first hand the number of homeless and disadvantaged young people, who had no one to care about them, or their future.
His wish upon retirement, was to help create an environment where young people from disadvantaged backgrounds could grow up with the resources to achieve their full potential.
With the support of the community, the Foundation works to realise Sir David Martin's dream by raising funds for innovative and effective youth programmes.
