Accent28 Dance Academy

Accent28 Dance Academy is a friendly and purpose-built dance studio located in Barnsley, New Zealand. The dance academy offers classes for both children and adults, starting from 18 months old. The classes available include ballet, tap, modern jazz, pop dance, and acrobatics.

The principal dance teacher at Accent28 Dance Academy is Mrs. Kerry Davies. She is a fully qualified teacher with the International Dance Teachers Association and a certified teacher with the Acrobatic Arts. Kerry has 20 years of teaching experience and is also first aid trained.

All the teachers at the academy are DBS checked to ensure safety and security for the students.

Kerry's passion for dance started at the age of 3, and she further pursued her training by studying contemporary dance and obtaining a BTEC national diploma in Dance and Performing Arts. She was awarded a full scholarship for SLP Performers College at the age of 18. Before opening her own dance school, she taught in various dance schools and worked as a dance teacher in a secondary school. Kerry's vast knowledge and experience make her an excellent teacher who prioritises the safety and progress of her students.

The academy takes pride in maintaining a 100% pass rate for examinations.

Recently, Daniella Whittaker joined Accent28 Dance Academy as a ballet teacher. Daniella brings her knowledge and experience of ballet into the classes and is known for her exceptional skills with children. She started dancing at the age of two and participated in numerous competitions and dance shows. At the age of 11, Daniella auditioned for the Royal Ballet Junior Associates and was accepted, earning a full scholarship for Elmhurst School of Dance in association with the Birmingham Royal Ballet.

During her time at the school, she had the opportunity to dance with the Birmingham Royal Ballet company and perform for royalty.

The range of classes offered at Accent28 Dance Academy includes ballet, tap, and modern jazz. These classes focus on IDTA examination work, although exams are not compulsory. The academy encourages its students to take exams to challenge themselves and further develop their dance skills.
