Anjali, our dedicated yoga instructor in Woking, extends her heartfelt thanks to the sports community for their ongoing support. Anjali has committed herself to guiding individuals towards physical and mental well-being through the practice of yoga, drawing inspiration from the yogic culture where Shiva is revered as the first yogi.
Her classes are a blend of traditional techniques like Pranayama (breathing), Savasana (relaxation), Dhyana (meditation), and Chanting. Anjali aims to help participants strike a healthy balance in flexibility, strength, and poise, while teaching the mind to stay calm during postures, no matter their difficulty.
In every session, postures are held longer to help students understand their bodies better. The outcome? A sense of calm, stretched muscles, and a deep sense of fulfilment.
Anjali’s journey with yoga began at 15, during her training in Jazz and contemporary dance. Yoga became essential, especially after she faced a lower back injury. Iyengar yoga helped her restore balance, and its benefits were magnified following a traumatic childbirth that left her with nerve damage. Restorative yoga, pranayama, and meditation were vital in her recovery, freeing her from the need for a lumbar support belt and bringing about a newfound awareness of self-care.
Driven by these personal experiences, Anjali returned to India to train intensively as a Yoga Teacher. Her training and subsequent studies with renowned teachers have made her believe that yoga is not just a class but a way of life and self-awareness.
Anjali’s passion for holistic well-being is clear. She invites everyone, whether new or seasoned practitioners, to join her classes. Her goal is to guide participants on a journey that extends beyond physical fitness, leading them towards inner peace and self-discovery.
