The owner, Wendy Tucknott, was taught the Cecchetti method as a child in Brighton and later in London. She is a member and registered teacher of the Cecchetti Society, which falls under the umbrella of the Imperial Society for Teachers of Dance, as well as a member of the International Dance Teachers Association.

In addition to adult ballet classes, The Bertram School of Dance also offers ballet classes for boys, girls, and teenagers on Wednesdays and Thursdays in Brighton and Rottingdean.
