About
Aikido Buikukai Auckland is a welcoming and inclusive martial arts school located in New Lynn, West Auckland. We specialise in teaching the Buikukai style of Aikido, which is renowned for its harmonious and effective movements. Aikido is a Japanese form of self-defence that utilises locks, holds, throws, and the opponent's own energy and momentum.
Our club is affiliated with the Osaka-based Aikikai style, which follows the teachings of the late Hirokazu Kobayashi Shihan, a prominent student of Morihei Ueshiba, the founder of Aikido. In New Zealand, our head instructor is Junichi Nishimura Shihan, a dedicated student of Hirokazu Kobayashi, and holder of the 7th Dan Aikikai rank.
At Aikido Buikukai Auckland, we offer training for both adults and children, ensuring that all age groups can benefit from the practise of Aikido. Our classes are designed to be accessible and enjoyable, providing a safe and supportive environment for students to learn and grow. Whether you are seeking self-defence skills, physical fitness, or personal development, our experienced instructors are here to guide you on your Aikido journey.
Our Dojo, located at 12 Stock Street in New Lynn, Auckland, is a dedicated training space equipped with all the necessary facilities for a fulfilling Aikido experience. We value the sense of community and camaraderie within our club and aim to foster strong connexions among our members.
