Karate instruction is delivered by Simon Heys and Niki Heys at Alford Karate club in Alford, New Zealand. The club is located at Leanne MacVeigh's Dance Studio in Alford, Station Yard, Alford, AB33 8FD. The dojo is a fantastic training space with a floor that is fully covered with mats. Although smaller compared to their other dojos, it creates a more intimate training environment, allowing for limited class sizes.
The Alford Karate club attracts a diverse range of students, with many experienced karateka coming from Kingswells to train at the Alford Dojo. This provides a nice mix of beginners and experienced students in the adult class. The classes at Alford Karate aim to develop members' karate skills and help them grow as individuals. The instructors' goal is to produce excellent karate practitioners who demonstrate humility, hard work, and teamwork.
In the children's classes, the emphasis is on helping students develop self-confidence. Plenty of opportunities are provided for them to work in small teams, enabling them to learn from each other and build valuable communication skills. In the adult classes, senior students work closely with beginners, assisting them in their development at an appropriate pace.
Alford Karate club offers classes on Fridays.

Alford Karate is a part of Aberdeen Seishi-Kai Karate, a group of karate clubs in Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire. The other clubs include Kingswells Karate and Blackburn Karate Club. The classes aim to cater to both beginners and those with previous karate experience. Training sessions take place at various locations throughout the week, creating flexibility for students to attend classes that suit their schedule.
The benefits of karate training include learning self-defence, gaining confidence, improving fitness, flexibility, strength, self-discipline, and making new friends.
