Alison Wareham Pilates Studio is a Pilates studio located in Sandy, New Zealand. The studio is owned and operated by Alison Wareham, a qualified Body Control Pilates instructor and registered fitness professional.

Alison Wareham's journey with Pilates began after sustaining an injury in a car accident. Unable to continue her usual fitness routines, she discovered the rehabilitative benefits of Pilates and decided to become a Pilates instructor herself. Since then, Alison has undergone extensive training in various specialities, including post-surgery Pilates, antenatal and post-natal care, beginner, and intermediate mat work, small equipment, Pilates for golfers, back rehabilitation, and Pilates in breast cancer rehabilitation.

At Alison Wareham Pilates Studio, the focus is on strengthening the body in an even way, with an emphasis on core strength to improve overall fitness and wellbeing. Classes are conducted either on a mat or using special equipment such as the Reformer, Cadillac, or Wunda Chair, which can provide resistance or support depending on individual needs. Alison utilises a combination of small equipment for myofascial release, balance challenges, and resistance bands or weights to increase limb and core strength.

The studio offers a variety of classes catering to different levels of experience. Beginner classes are perfect for those with little or no Pilates experience, where the basic principles and exercises are introduced using equipment such as resistance bands and Franklin balls. Intermediate classes are designed for those who have mastered the basics and are looking for a more challenging workout. Intermediate/Advanced classes incorporate advanced exercises and high-intensity work.

Advanced classes cater to individuals with considerable Pilates experience and the ability to perform prolonged sequences of movement, with an emphasis on injury-free individuals. Additionally, there are high-intensity classes that are faster-paced and incorporate weights and more resistance. For those looking to counteract the effects of a sedentary lifestyle, there's a posture blast session dedicated to strengthening postural muscles and promoting spinal alignment.

In addition to group classes, Alison Wareham Pilates Studio also offers private sessions and two weekly Zoom sessions for those who prefer the convenience of online classes. The studio operates on a term basis, with terms typically running from September to October and from October to December. Class prices are to be paid in full for each half-term in advance, and payment can be made via bank transfer.
