Hey golfers! Alnesbourne Priory Golf Club in Ipswich is getting ready to reopen after some Winter TLC on Saturday 2nd March. This 9-hole gem with its lovely fairways and greens offers a great game for everyone.
With five par 3s and four par 4s running along the river saltings, you're in for some cracking views of the River Orwell pretty much everywhere you look. Whether you’re just starting out or have been whacking balls for years, Alnesbourne Priory promises a good challenge and a memorable round.
The club’s open from 8:30 am till it gets dark, and the last tee time is at 5:30 pm. Visitors can join the fun till dark as long as they’re there by the final tee time. Just heads up – some days the course might be closed for society games, so check the website for those dates.
Locals can grab a membership, but if you’re just visiting, green fees are reasonable: Juniors (under 16) pay £10 on weekdays and £12 on weekends and bank holidays, while adults pay £15 on weekdays and £20 on weekends and bank holidays. There’s also a golf card for 2023 that you can check out on the site.
Everyone’s been loving the course – one golfer called it a “fantastic little course” and others praised the tight layout and well-kept greens. Plus, the Club House sandwiches are a hit!
