About
Alvaston – Boulton Bowls Club, nestled in Derby, is celebrating over sixty years of bowling at Nunsfield House. With six teams in the South Derbyshire league, they cater to everyone – from newbies to County-standard pros.
Matches are buzzing in the evenings, with mixed teams playing Mondays and Tuesdays, men's squads taking Fridays, and ladies hitting the green in the evenings. The vets are action-packed in the afternoons, with the floodlit mixed teams shining in the evenings. Over at Belper, Wednesday mixed teams and Saturday singles keep the energy high, while Burton sees Saturday mixed and Thursday men’s vets teams holding court.
Beyond competition, the club offers morning and afternoon social bowling (green availability permitting) plus club competitions peppered throughout the season for members looking to flaunt their skills.
Meet the dream team keeping it real: Chairman Neil Desmond, Secretary Ben Ryder, Treasurer David Redfern, and Club Captain Richard Gill. They've got a fab crew of committee members and officials ensuring the club runs like clockwork.
With a proud history on the Honours Board, champs like R. Gill (2020 Men's Champion), Miss S. Oxotby (2018 Ladies Champion), and M. Stills (2019 Vets Champion) shine brightly.
