The school offers riding lessons for individuals aged 7 and above, catering to riders of all levels, from beginners to advanced. Lessons are conducted by a qualified and experienced ESNZ coach, who provides one-on-one instruction to ensure personalised attention and guidance.

Lessons at Amberley Riding School focus on building a rider's centre of balance and developing an independent seat. The school believes in providing a safe and supportive environment for riders to learn and grow, and lessons are designed to be enjoyable and rewarding. While the majority of lessons take place in the arena, the school also utilises the farm's facilities, including jumps, poles, a lunge arena, and a big paddock, to expose riders to different situations and skills.

At Amberley Riding School, previous riding skills or horse interaction are not required to enrol in lessons. The school encourages individuals with an awesome attitude and a willingness to learn to join their programme. First-time riders will start off on the lunge with one of the school's quiet ponies or horses, ensuring a comfortable and safe learning experience. Lessons are tailored to meet the specific needs of each rider, with a focus on building confidence and overcoming any challenges they may face.

Lessons at Amberley Riding School are available on weekdays during the school term, from 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM. Lessons typically last for half an hour, but different lesson types can be booked to suit individual preferences. The school recommends riders to have a lesson once a week, and time slots are booked for the school term. Additional lesson times can be arranged for adults.

All riders are required to wear helmets during lessons, and helmets can be borrowed from the school. Parents of riders need to sign an Indemnity form before participating in lessons. It is advised to arrive for lessons wearing long pants and boots with a heel, ensuring the safety and comfort of riders.

To book a lesson at Amberley Riding School, interested individuals can contact Kaylie, the instructor, at 022 434 5295. If she is unable to answer the call, a text, or voice mail can be left, and she will promptly respond. Due to the absence of mini ponies, riders younger than 7 years old cannot be accommodated currently.

Amberley Riding School prioritises the safety and well-being of riders, and lessons may be postponed or cancelled in case of unsafe weather conditions or a flooded arena. In such cases, the coach will inform riders via text, ensuring ample notice. For all other cancellations, a 24-hour notice period is required, otherwise, a charge for that lesson will apply.

Amberley Riding School offers a range of lesson plans to suit different preferences and budgets. Prices range from $45 for a 30-minute private lesson, which is recommended for beginners, to $100 for an hour-long private lesson. Group lessons are also available; interested individuals can contact the school for availability, times, and prices. Riders have the option to have lessons on their own pony or horse as well.

In addition to riding lessons, Amberley Riding School offers horse schooling and selling services. Riders can book sessions for their horse's schooling, and the school also provides assistance in horse viewing for potential buyers. The instructor at Amberley Riding School, Kaylie, brings nearly 15 years of experience in the horse industry. With her extensive background in racing, showing, dressage, showjumping, and retraining and schooling racehorses, Kaylie offers a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her students. She has worked in various countries around the world, including America, South Africa, England, and New Zealand. Kaylie is a registered ESNZ coach and a qualified instructor, guaranteeing high-quality instruction and guidance for all riders.

Additionally, she holds a current first aid certificate, ensuring the safety and well-being of her students.
