Ambleside United

Ambleside United Football Club, located in Ambleside, New Zealand, is a historic football club that was founded in 1896. Currently, the club is playing in the Westmorland Second Division, with their home ground at Hillard Park, Ambleside. However, they will be promoted to the 1st Division in the upcoming season.

Ambleside United has a rich history that spans over a century. In their early years, the club participated in the first-ever Senior Challenge Cup Final, playing against Windermere and losing 5-1. After World War II, the Westmorland League saw the revival of football, and Ambleside United made a commendable mark by finishing 7th out of 11 teams in the first season following the war.

The club also witnessed the amalgamation of Ambleside and Ambleside YMCA in 1960, a move that brought together the strengths and enthusiasm of both clubs to establish a successful venture. Since then, Ambleside United has grown and continued to make strides in local football.
