Road, continue straight for approximately half a mile until you reach Bassett's Manor Workshops on your right-hand side. Amelia Wilbourn Balanced Awareness is located within these workshops. Parking is available onsite.
Amelia Wilbourn is passionate about horses and has dedicated her life to working with them. With her extensive experience in Pony Club, BHS qualifications, and teaching at various equestrian institutions, she is well-equipped to help riders of all ages and abilities.
One unique aspect of Amelia's services is her mechanical horses, “Sir Trotalot” and “Gallopy. ” These life-sized horses are housed in a purpose-built workshop at Bassett's Manor. Riders can practise and improve their position and riding skills for flatwork, dressage, jumping, and fast work, with adjustable speeds at each pace. It provides a safe and controlled environment for riders to enhance their abilities.
In addition to lessons with the mechanical horses, Amelia also offers lessons with your own horse or pony. She covers groundwork, flatwork, dressage, and jumping, focusing on developing a positive and progressive partnership between horse and rider. Her teachings centre around improving rider awareness of their position, enabling them to make positive changes to their horse's way of going.
Amelia is also skilled in biomechanics assessments and Pilates. The rider's position in the saddle has a significant impact on the horse's movements and quality of paces. Pilates improves body awareness, balance, core stability, and coordination, all essential components for a harmonious rider-horse connexion. By becoming more aware of their individual patterns of movement, riders can correct their posture and achieve a healthier body overall.
Furthermore, Amelia offers coaching for confidence and performance. She understands that confidence is crucial for riders but can easily be lost. Her coaching addresses both the psychological and emotional aspects of riding, as these emotions can affect not only the rider but also the horse's confidence. By addressing these issues, riders can perform at their best and foster a positive relationship with their horse.
Prices for Amelia's services vary depending on the duration and nature of the session. Private sessions with the mechanical horses range from 30 to 60 minutes, with prices starting at 35. She also offers semi-private sessions for two riders and a 90-day course that includes mechanical horse lessons, biomechanics assessments, Pilates, and goal-setting. For lessons with your own horse, prices start at 55 plus travel expenses.
