The school is founded and led by Mike, who has an impressive background in martial arts. He later joined the Royal Marines, serving for 6 years and gaining further martial arts experience. After leaving the military, Mike continued his training in freestyle grappling and competed in various MMA competitions.
As a result, Mike's teaching style incorporates a variety of martial arts disciplines, including Karate, Boxing, Muay Thia, Wrestling, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu.
Applied Martial Arts has received positive feedback from parents, with one parent praising Mike's teaching methods and the progress their children have made in kicking, punching, grappling, and takedowns. The classes are described as fun, friendly, and conducted in a controlled environment that instils values such as determination, self-discipline, excellence, and integrity.
