Aquarius Dancers

Aquarius Dancers, located in Blacktown, is a dance school dedicated to providing tuition in Ballet, Contemporary, Modern Jazz, and Modern Tap dance. The school operates within the friendly and welcoming environment of the Blacktown Police Citizen Youth Club and the Westview Baptist Church Doonside. With a focus on building self-confidence and fostering a love for dance, Aquarius Dancers is committed to creating a non-competitive atmosphere for all students.

Established in 2000, Aquarius Dancers was founded with the vision of offering a fun, friendly, and affordable dance school experience. The school believes that everyone should have the opportunity to dance and aims to ensure that performances are not limited to a select studio show group. Instead, the school encourages a holistic approach to dance, viewing it as an art form rather than a competitive sport.

The Principal of Aquarius Dancers is Tracey Murphy, who has been actively involved in the dance world since the age of 3. With years of experience in competitions, examinations, teaching, and performing, Tracey brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to the dance school. She has performed in various venues across the country and internationally. Having experienced dance training from multiple studios, Tracey recognised the need for a more accessible and supportive dance school.

This inspired her vision of creating a low-cost dance school that offers dance to anyone who has the desire to participate, fostering a fun and friendly atmosphere.

Aquarius Dancers offers a diverse range of classes for different age groups and skill levels. The timetable for 2023 includes classes such as Tiny Tots for ages 2–4 years, Pre-juniors for ages 4–6 years, and Seniors for ages 12–20 years. There are also specialised classes for adults, including Tap, Ballet, Jazz, and Contemporary dance. Class fees range from $10 to $16 depending on the duration and level of the class.

The studio emphasises the importance of bringing a drink, preferably water, to all classes. Additionally, students are required to ensure that their mobile phones are either switched off or on silent during class.

Aquarius Dancers is staffed by a dedicated team led by Principal Tracey Gosling. The administration is managed by Gail Murphy, and there are also Assistant Teachers: Amy Ward, Mikayla Tasker, and Jasmine Ries. The team is committed to providing a positive and nurturing environment for all students.
