Students to feel comfortable and safe in the water while learning the foundational skills of swimming.
At AquaStars Swim & Training Academy, they believe that everyone should have the opportunity to learn how to swim, regardless of age or ability. The comprehensive programme is designed to cater to swimmers of all levels, from beginners taking their first strokes to advanced swimmers looking to refine their techniques.
In the early stages (Stages 1-3) of the learn to swim programme, the experienced instructors at AquaStars are water-based and in the pool with the swimmers, providing extra support and building confidence. Stage 1 focuses on teaching the basics of swimming to complete beginners, while Stage 2 builds confidence and encourages independent swimming. Stage 3 takes students beyond armbands, with lots of teacher support, and teaches submerging, jumping in the water, and perfecting basic swimming techniques. Stage 4 introduces all four swimming strokes, as well as other skills like skulling, log rolls, and push and glide.
As students progress through Stages 5-10, instructors oversee independent and confident swimmers. Stage 5 refines strokes and introduces more advanced skills, while Stage 6 focuses on breathing techniques, distance swimming, and water safety. Stage 7 marks the final step in the Learn to Swim programme, Stage 8 develops competitive swimming skills, Stage 9 covers underwater racing techniques, and Stage 10 consolidates learning and prepares swimmers for competitive club swimming or other water sports.
For swimmers at or above Stage 10, AquaStars offers a Swim Club group where they can learn the skills they need to continue their swimming journey as competitive swimmers. In this group, swimmers learn how to swim sets, read the clock, sprint, dive, and stretch properly before exercising.
