Swimming has numerous benefits, making it an ideal activity for families to enjoy together. Once individuals master swimming, they can partake in various water-related activities such as snorkelling, scuba diving, water polo, fishing, and sailing. Aquatic Dolphins Swim School aims to instil a love for swimming in their students, allowing them to explore these activities and enjoy their free time in the water.
Apart from the practical benefits, swimming is also vital for water safety. Aquatic Dolphins Swim School emphasises the importance of being able to swim at least 25 metres, as this distance is deemed necessary for individuals to have a chance of saving their lives in case of an emergency. It is a National Curriculum requirement for children to be able to swim 25 metres by the time they leave primary school. The school also welcomes adults who want to learn how to swim, with many preferring to learn when their children are also enrolled in lessons.
Aquatic Dolphins Swim School is led by Danielle, who has been teaching swimming since 1986. In September 2017, the school was renamed to Aquatic Dolphins Swim School to reflect its expansion beyond Purley. Danielle started teaching swimming at a young age, assisting her mother who is also a swimming teacher. She went on to train as a Swim England Tutor in 2016, allowing her to pass on her passion to others who aspire to become swimming teachers.
Danielle firmly believes that everyone should have the opportunity to learn to swim, and lessons at Aquatic Dolphins Swim School are designed to build core aquatic skills through fun and games, enabling individuals to learn at their own pace.
