Ilka Sissingh brings a wealth of experience to Art of Exercise. She obtained her Master's degree in Sport Science in Germany before moving to New Zealand a decade ago. She has taught Pilates classes and private sessions at a prestigious gym in Auckland. As a former gymnast, Ilka has a deep understanding of movement and a quest for perfection.
Her love for the precision of Pilates training led her to expand her knowledge through various styles of Pilates and other fitness and rehabilitation courses.
At Art of Exercise, Ilka particularly enjoys working with clients in the following areas: maintaining mobility and flexibility as they age, helping athletes from different disciplines achieve specific goals, preventing injuries and aiding in rehabilitation, improving flexibility for men dealing with tight legs, spines, and shoulders, and assisting clients in regaining confidence after pelvic floor issues and childbirth.
Ilka holds several qualifications, including a Master's degree in Sport Science and a Fitness A-level licence. She has also undergone post-graduate training in Peak Pilates Reformer and Pre and Post-natal Pilates. With her extensive expertise and continuous learning, clients can trust that they are receiving top-quality instruction and guidance at Art of Exercise.
Aside from her professional endeavours, Ilka enjoys exploring new recipes and flavours as a foodie. She finds joy in making healthy choices for her family but admits to having a slight addiction to cake. She also takes time to relax her busy mind through activities like walking on the beach, practising yoga, and meditation. Ilka is a passionate dancer and is always excited to hit the slopes for snowboarding during winter.
Art of Exercise offers various services to cater to clients' needs and preferences. Private 1-on-1 sessions with the Pilates Reformer are available for $65. The Reformer offers spring resistance, increasing intensity and enabling a wider range of exercises with support. Mat Pilates sessions are also offered, with private sessions priced at $65 and semi-private sessions at $40 per person (limited to 2 participants).
Additionally, Art of Exercise provides at-home and workplace classes, customisable based on location, preferred time, and number of participants.
