A combination of asana practise, pranayama, and meditation. It is suitable for students of all levels who are looking to deepen their yoga practise and explore new aspects of the practise.
Ashford Yoga is led by Lorna, a Diploma qualified Yoga teacher affiliated with the British Wheel of Yoga. With a passion for Hatha yoga, Lorna teaches a range of classes from beginners to intermediates. In her group classes, she emphasises the importance of the body and breath as a link to the mind. Lorna enjoys exploring different styles of yoga to provide her students with a well-rounded experience.
Lorna's classes at Ashford Yoga are known for their friendly and non-competitive atmosphere. She encourages her students to work within their limitations, offering modifications and variations to deepen or lighten their asana practise. Alignment and subtleties within each posture are given special attention, and students are encouraged to be fully present in their bodies during the practise.
Ashford Yoga offers a variety of class options throughout the week. Pre-booking is necessary for all classes, and the fee for each class is 9. Beginners can choose from multiple Hatha Beginners classes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. Lorna teaches both morning and evening sessions to accommodate different schedules.
Intermediates can join the Hatha Intermediates class on Wednesday evenings.
In addition to group classes, Ashford Yoga also offers private sessions for seniors, individuals recovering from illness or injury, or those looking to deepen their practise. These one-on-one therapy sessions provide personalised attention and guidance.
The studio is located at The Elwick Club on Church Road in Ashford, Kent. For more information or to book a session, individuals can contact Lorna via phone at 07584062035 or email at contact@ashfordyoga. Co. uk.
Lorna believes that yoga is more than just physical exercise; it is a practise that encompasses the mind and spirit. Yoga offers a way to improve overall health, manage stress, and foster personal and spiritual growth. Through yoga, individuals can experience better sleep, increased energy levels, improved posture, mobility, and flexibility. It also aids in weight management, breath awareness, relaxation, and meditation techniques.
Yoga can help manage stress, injuries, depression, anxiety, and age-related changes, including the menopause.
To help individuals choose the right class, Ashford Yoga provides a clear breakdown of the different levels. The Hatha Beginners classes are suitable for those who are new to yoga or returning after a break. Intermediates classes are intended for students with at least 12 months of regular practise and wanting to progress. The Beginners to Next Step class is ideal for those with some yoga knowledge and a reasonable level of mobility and strength.
Ashford Yoga also offers monthly workshops that cover a range of themes, such as yoga for relaxation, backbends, inversions, and peak postures. These workshops are suitable for students at all levels and provide an opportunity to explore specific aspects of yoga in depth. Each workshop includes a combination of asana practise, pranayama, and meditation.
Whether an individual is a beginner or an experienced yogi, Ashford Yoga provides a welcoming and supportive environment for all. Lorna's expertise and passion for yoga shines through in her classes, helping students connect with their bodies, minds, and spirits on and off the mat.
