With over 25 years of teaching experience, the devoted teacher, Isabel, invites students of all levels to practise yoga in a supportive and nurturing environment.
Isabel's background in professional dance brings a deep understanding of how the body moves, which she incorporates into her yoga teaching and personal practise. She specialises in Ashtanga Yoga Mysore style and has also studied and practised Iyengar yoga and Vinyasa yoga. As a certified Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (ERYT) by the Yoga Alliance, Isabel holds six certificates in Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) with over 3000 hours of training. She is grateful for the guidance of her teachers, including Anat Zahor, Simon Marrocco, Nancy Gardush, Olivia David, Roee Weiis, Jemie Marks, GregTebb, Greg Cooper, and Dena Kingsberg.
Isabel's classes are influenced by her longstanding meditation practise, which began at a young age and later evolved to Vipassana Meditation. Her teachings are a fusion of meditation, philosophy, Buddhism, and yoga practise. Through her unique teaching style, Isabel encourages students to elevate their spiritual, mental, physical, and emotional states, allowing them to discover their true selves in the present moment.
Since 2014, Isabel has been running regular Ashtanga Yoga classes Mysore Style at Ashtanga Yoga Home Melbourne. In addition to the Mysore Style classes, the studio offers Ashtanga Led Classes, Ashtanga Vinyasa YTT courses, private yoga classes, workshops, and retreats. In 2018, Ashtanga Yoga Home became a registered School for Yoga Teacher Training with the Yoga Alliance.
Isabel's teaching approach is rooted in love and strong faith. She believes that each student already possesses the truth within themselves and sees herself as a guide, pointing them in the direction of self-discovery. She allows for variability in each individual's journey and aims to share her passion for yoga while creating a space for introspection, learning, and personal growth.
