ATP Coaching & Performance is a personal trainer in Christchurch that specialises in improving physical capability through individualised coaching and tailored training programmes. They have a philosophy centred on foundations, general strength, and tailored coaching to help clients achieve their goals in climbing, mountain running, and overall physical wellbeing.
With a focus on foundations, ATP aims to provide clients with an objective understanding of their physiology, identifying any limitations or imbalances and teaching them how to correct them safely and efficiently. Once the groundwork has been laid, ATP helps clients develop measurable progress and useable strength to improve their capability through general strength training.
ATP also offers tailored coaching for endurance athletes, focusing on strength training for endurance and climbing-specific strength training. They assure clients that they won't get “bulky” unless they want to. Their approach is designed to enhance performance in individuals pursuing rock-climbing, mountain biking, running, and other sports.
The personal trainer receives excellent feedback from clients who have seen significant improvements in their strength, resilience, and overall condition. One individual shares how they were able to identify weaknesses and develop a targeted training programme that impacted their climbing goals as well as their day-to-day wellbeing. In addition to their coaching services, ATP is available for climbing-specific strength training and coaching at the best bouldering facility in the Southern Hemisphere, known as GMF. The personal trainer is currently working through an accreditation programme to further assist passionate climbers at this facility.
