Ayre Athletic Grounds

Ayre Athletic Grounds is a well-known soccer field located in St. John's, Newfoundland. The entrance to the grounds can be found on Adams Ave, situated conveniently between Pennywell Rd and Freshwater Rd. Parking is available on-site, as well as on Pennywell Rd and Adams Ave.

For those coming from the Churchill Square area, parking is also available in the Churchill Park area on Elizabeth Avenue. Additionally, for visitors coming from Airport Heights, the grounds are located at the end of McNiven Place, which is the third left off Airport Heights Drive if arriving from Portugal Cove Rd.

Ayre Athletic Grounds is home to a variety of soccer events and programs, including the KGV Calendar of Events, which features important upcoming activities within the club. Events such as Canada Soccer's Women & Girls IDEA Day and small-sided referee courses are regularly held at the grounds. The club also welcomes participants to join various divisions, such as the Girls Under 13 division, and offers an online apparel store for supporters to purchase merchandise.

The grounds are also host to the Metro League, which includes age groups ranging from Under 7 to Under 13. Players are selected through a tryout process and practice throughout the fall and winter before competing in the Metro League during the spring and summer months. The leading Youth League (PYL) is the next step for players after finishing in the Metro League age groups, with teams ranging from Under 12 to Under 17. The PYL teams focus on long-term player development and follow the Canada Soccer Pathway.

In addition to league play, Ayre Athletic Grounds is also home to Winter Micro Programs designed for children born in specific years. These programs focus on fostering skills, engaging in games, and instilling a love for the game of soccer in each participant.
