Ayr Taekwondo

Ayr Taekwondo, located in Ayrshire, is the leading hub for the Traditional Taekwondo Association (TTA) clubs in the region. Under the guidance of Chief Instructor Grandmaster Loh, a 9th Dan Specialised Orthopaedic Physiotherapist, the club offers top-notch training that blends the latest scientific exercise methods with traditional martial arts values.

Every instructor at Ayr Taekwondo is rigorously trained and regularly evaluated by Grandmaster Loh. For students, being graded by one of the world's most respected Grandmasters is a unique and honourable opportunity.

Practising Taekwondo at the club isn't just about physical fitness; it’s about achieving a balance of mind, body, and spirit – a state of 'oneness' that helps players respond to life’s challenges confidently and intuitively.

The club offers classes across Ayrshire for all fitness levels. The training journey here focuses on developing fitness, coordination, self-discipline, teamwork, high achievement, and morality. By progressing through these stages, students gain physical fitness, respect, self-discipline, and integrity.

Alan Brown, a 4th Dan instructor, leads the Ayr Heathfield Primary club, with classes available for students of all ages. Joining him are Jeff Scobie, a 3rd Dan instructor, and Claire Robertson, a 1st Dan assistant instructor.

The Kilmarnock club, led by 4th Dan instructor Hugh Steele, meets at Holy Trinity Scottish Episcopal Church. Hugh also leads the Stewarton club at Stewarton Sports Centre.

The Ayrshire Taekwondo journey began in 1988 with Robert Grey’s club in Ayr. The legacy has since grown, with Alan Brown and Hugh Steele expanding the network of clubs across the region.
