Emma Layne, an ARAD and RTS qualified dance professional, brings her extensive experience and expertise to guide and mentor dancers and students towards achieving their individual goals. With a BA (Hons) in Dance & Performance and a Postgraduate Level 7 Teaching Qualification obtained at the Deutsche Oper Berlin, Emma is dedicated to offering supportive and informed training to her students.
Emma's teaching approach is inclusive and focuses on bringing out the best in each individual. She builds a strong rapport with students, particularly those who choose private coaching, and provides them with the necessary guidance and support to excel in their ballet journey. Her teaching is easily understandable, enabling students to apply the techniques they learn in their classes and practise.
As a professional dancer, ballet coach, and qualified dance teacher, Emma is equipped with diverse skills and qualifications. She holds FHEQ Level 7 Registered Teacher Status and is an Associate of the Royal Academy of Dance. She is also DBS certified and has certifications in Choreography, Artistic/Creative Direction for dance projects, and Mental Health Awareness. Additionally, Emma is a certified teacher of Progressing Ballet Technique, a training programme that focuses on strengthening and conditioning for ballet.
Emma's performance repertoire includes classical ballet productions, neoclassical works, and show productions on international stages. Her professional engagements include Ballett Magdeburg, Balletto di Vicenza, Ballet Cymru, German Dance Sensation, Ballet Central, Staatstheater Braunschweig, and Nordharzer Stdtbundtheater. Presently, Emma works as a freelance artist, choreographer, ballet coach, and artistic director for dance projects in Berlin.
Throughout her career, Emma has worked with a variety of students, including those with late start or learning difficulties, as well as young professionals from other disciplines such as gymnastics, ice skating, and Irish dance. She has been teaching popular open ballet classes for adults since 2010 and has choreographed and coordinated projects with dance students, adult groups, and professional dancers.
Not only has Emma taught regular classes to students on the Centre of Advanced Training Programme in Salford, but she has also led ballet classes with piano accompaniment. In 2014, she obtained her Masters level teaching qualification on the Professional Dancers' Postgraduate programme.
