Skaters between the ages of 2-4 and their parent or caregiver. It aims to introduce children to the ice in a fun and safe environment, helping them develop balance and coordination skills. The Bancroft Skating Club also offers the CanSkate program, which is a learn-to-skate program for beginner skaters of all ages. Skaters will learn the fundamentals of skating, including how to fall down and get back up, skate forwards and backwards, start, stop, turn around quickly, and more.
For those skaters who have completed the CanSkate program, the Club offers the StarSkate program, which consists of four different strands: Dance, FreeSkate, Interpretive, and Skills. Skaters have the opportunity to progress through four levels: Preliminary, Bronze, Silver, and Gold. Junior StarSkaters work towards completing their Preliminary strands, while Intermediate and Senior StarSkaters work on more advanced skills and tests.
The Bancroft Skating Club is a sanctioned member of Skate Canada and provides professional skating instruction for the community and surrounding area. It aims to create a fun, friendly, and welcoming environment for skaters to develop their love of skating. The Club also hosts an Annual Skating Carnival in March, where skaters can showcase their skills and talents to family and friends.
