Basingstoke and Deane Canoe Club, affectionately known as BADCC, is a welcoming and social canoe and kayak club located in Basingstoke, New Zealand. The club offers opportunities for individuals of all skill levels to learn, develop, and experience the thrill of open canoeing and kayaking. With a team of British Canoeing qualified coaches, members can be assured of receiving expert guidance and support.

The club operates from two locations – Colt Hill Club House, situated on the idyllic Basingstoke Canal near Odiham, and the QMC Sports Centre Swimming Pool in Basingstoke. The main club night takes place every Wednesday evening and alternates between Colt Hill during the summer months and QMC during winter. Detailed information about club sessions can be found on the club's website.

For those interested in trying out this exciting water sport, BADCC warmly invites you to join their ranks. To inquire about membership or to arrange a trial session, please contact the club via email at hello@badpaddlers. Org. A responsive club representative will provide you with all the necessary information regarding timings and locations.

Members of BADCC also benefit from exclusive access to pool sessions held at the QMC Sports Centre in Basingstoke. These sessions, which run from 7:15 PM to 9:15 PM throughout the autumn, winter, and spring seasons, provide an excellent opportunity for members to practise and develop their skills in a controlled and comfortable environment. Pool sessions can be booked via email at pool@badcc. Club, and the cost is 6 per half-hour.

In addition to the club's exceptional facilities, members of BADCC also have access to various local rivers and canals. Please note that a licence is required for most local waterways, including the Basingstoke Canal. It is essential to familiarise yourself with the requirements and regulations before embarking on any river or canal paddling adventures.

BADCC further enhances its offerings by organising regular Saturday canal sessions at Colt Hill. These sessions, taking place from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM, offer club members the opportunity to participate in guided paddles, receive coaching, and even engage in individual tuition. The Boat Store at Colt Hill is also open during these sessions, allowing members to borrow club equipment as needed.

For those seeking more adventurous paddling experiences, BADCC organises an annual Tryweryn Trip, scheduled for 28th and 29th September 2024. This trip is specifically designed for intermediate and advanced white water paddlers who are comfortable navigating rivers of similar difficulty, such as the Dart Loop. Save the date and join fellow enthusiasts for an unforgettable paddling adventure!

Established in 1987 under the initiative of the Borough Council, the Basingstoke, and Deane Canoe Club has a rich history of providing recreational activities and amenities for the local community. The club's mission is to promote and facilitate the enjoyment of canoeing and kayaking, fostering a sense of camaraderie and a love for the water.
