The BC Summer Games Basketball Program is an exciting opportunity for young athletes in Langley Twp to showcase their skills on the court. With age groups for U13 and U14, players have the chance to compete in either 5-on-5 games or 3x3 basketball, depending on their age. If you were born in 2010 or later, you're eligible for the U14 category, while those born in 2011 or later can join the U13 category.
To secure a spot on a BC Summer Games team, players must attend a selection camp in their respective zone of permanent residence. Coaches will evaluate the participants and select the top 10 players of each gender to represent the BCSG teams. Selected athletes will receive additional training and skill development leading up to the event in Maple Ridge from July 18-21, 2024.
Coaches for the BCSG teams will be announced soon, with representation from all 8 geographical BC zones determined based on coach availability. Participants, parents, and coaches can also opt for additional competition opportunities for an extra fee, allowing for more chances to hone their skills on the court.
For those looking to participate, there is a $75 selection fee and a $500 team participation fee (both GST exempt). Additionally, an Athlete Membership with Basketball BC is mandatory, costing $20 excluding GST. Keep an eye out for specific schedules for the 2024 selection camps, which will be posted shortly in preparation for the event.
