BDAC River Roding, also known as Billericay & District Angling Club, is a fishing club located in Romford, Essex. Established in 1957, BDAC is one of the largest angling clubs in the region, offering fishing opportunities on 31 lakes and stretches of the famous River Roding, Blackwater, Pant, Wid, and Stour.
As an affiliated member of The Angling Trust and a proud supporter of the Essex Angling Watch, BDAC is committed to providing a safe and enjoyable fishing experience for its members. The club constantly strives to enhance its fisheries, with a particular focus on maintaining clean and well-maintained facilities, including clean flush toilets and secure swims.
While carp fishing is a popular activity in the area, BDAC offers a diverse range of species to cater to the preferences of all anglers, including families. Unlike many local day-ticket waters that have a predictable fish population, BDAC's waters provide an exciting mix of other species for a more varied angling experience.
In a recent development, BDAC has successfully negotiated to join the prestigious Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation Consortium, offering its members approximately 12 miles of additional fishing opportunities. Additionally, the club is continually restocking and improving its waters, such as introducing 15 fast-growing double-figure carp into Barleylands in early 2023, 51 high-quality carp into the large lake at Braintree throughout 2022 and 2023, and 300 true crucian carp into the lake at High Easter in autumn 2023.
BDAC also regularly receives supplies of silver fish to stock into several lakes, making it an ideal location for anglers of all skill levels to enjoy a productive day on the water.
The club hosts an Annual General Meeting each year in March, where members are welcome to participate in club business discussions and enjoy the prize presentations for both senior and junior members. BDAC is run by a dedicated Management Committee, consisting of experienced individuals who oversee various aspects of the club's operations, including fishery liaison, match organisation, newsletter editing, and more.
