BDAC Southminster

Welcome to BDAC Southminster, the fishing club that has been serving anglers in Essex for 65 years. BDAC is the largest angling club in Essex and offers fishing on 31 lakes and stretches of the river Roding, Blackwater, Pant, Wid, and Stour. We are proud to be affiliated with The Angling Trust and support the Essex Angling Watch.

At BDAC Southminster, we are dedicated to improving our fisheries and providing the best angling experience for our members. The provision of clean flush toilets and safe swims is our top priority. Unlike many local day-ticket waters, our waters offer a variety of species, so every angler can enjoy a diverse fishing experience. While carp is a prevalent species in our waters, we also stock regular supplies of silverfish.

We are continuously working to expand our fishing opportunities for our members. BDAC Southminster has successfully negotiated joining the Chelmer & Blackwater Navigation Consortium, providing our members with approximately 12 miles of additional fishing. We regularly restock and improve our waters, including plans to introduce 15 fast-growing double-figure carp into Barleylands in early 2023, 51 good quality carp into the large lake at Braintree during 2022 and 2023, and 300 true crucian carp into our lake at High Easter in the Autumn of 2023.

BDAC Southminster also hosts an annual general meeting in March, where all members are welcome. During this meeting, club business is discussed, followed by the presentation of prizes, trophies, and certificates to both senior and junior members. Our club is run by a dedicated management committee that oversees the club's operations and ensures the best experience for our members.

In addition to fishing, BDAC Southminster maintains a strong connexion with local tackle shops and affiliated organisations. These establishments stock our club literature and offer discounts to club members upon the presentation of their membership cards. Angling Direct Rayleigh and Angling Essentials are two of these affiliated organisations.
