Beadnell Sailing Club

Jamie, the organiser of Beadnell Sailing Club, would like to extend a warm invitation to the sports community. Situated in Chathill, the club offers a variety of activities for both seasoned sailors and newcomers.

Sailing is the core of Beadnell Sailing Club. The club has a mix of dinghy and small boat sailors who usually sail and race on weekends. They also welcome cruising yacht sailors, who explore nearby harbours and anchorages such as Newton, Craster, Holy Island, and Berwick. One notable experience for these sailors is the "Cruising in company," where participants sail alongside others, taking on the tidal challenges around the Farnes.

Beyond sailing, there's a lively social scene at the club, catering to all ages. Sunday mornings in the sailing season see members gathering for coffee, a great way to build friendships. Evening socials in the clubhouse are regular events where members can bring their own beverages. There are special events throughout the year, like the "RNLI Day" fundraiser for the local lifeboat in August.

Newer events include the “End of Season Party” in September and the “Winter Gathering” in February, designed to keep members connected even in the off-season.

The club is also keen to support young sailors through its active Cadet section. Young sailors, regardless of experience, are welcomed. Beginners are encouraged to sail in the sheltered bay waters, while the more experienced venture further out. Late July and early August feature "Sailing Week," a period of instruction and drills aimed at building confidence and skill. Affiliation with the Royal Yachting Association (RYA) ensures top-notch training and activities.

To keep everyone informed, the club maintains an events calendar with key dates such as the launch of moored boats and the annual Regatta Day, the highlight of the sailing year.
