One unique aspect of BEDSAC is its emphasis on being a family-friendly club. With members ranging from 12 to 70+ years old, the club welcomes divers from all age groups. In fact, BEDSAC even has a growing Junior Section, where young people aged 12 to 18 can become divers and those aged 8 to 12 can learn to snorkel. Families are encouraged to join in on all the club's activities.
Safety is a top priority at BEDSAC. All instructors are DBS (was CRB) checked, and the club has a formal safeguarding policy in place to protect its junior members. BEDSAC is also proud to be an independent scuba diving club, formed in 1960, and is branch 0089 of the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC).
If you're interested in learning to dive, BEDSAC offers courses and activities to help you get started. Already qualified? BEDSAC also provides more advanced training to help divers progress further and improve their skills. Members have the opportunity to dive at various sites around the UK for open water diving experiences.
