Hey Sports Community,
Tom here, and he’s really excited to share some updates about what's happening in the world of belly dance right here in the UK.
Belly Dance, the renowned school in Portsmouth, offers a great mix of classes across locations like Portsea, Fratton, and Port Solent. With a solid team of experienced teachers, there’s something for everyone, from beginners to seasoned dancers.
Sheena, one of Belly Dance's esteemed teachers, brings over 20 years of experience to the table. She teaches Belly Dance Fusion (Oxyrobix) and wings of Isis. Tom reckons it’s a fantastic way to dive into the intricate moves and techniques, and you even get a chance to showcase your skills at Sheena's annual dance show.
Over in Basingstoke, classes are also taught by Sandra and Kathryn at Fort Hill Community School. Whether you’re just starting out or looking to perfect your technique, these classes cover everything from posture and musical interpretation to Egyptian styles and dancing with veils, zills, and cane.
Another gem, Cecilia Morales Wayar, with her 10+ years of performing experience, has been teaching in Basingstoke for 7 years. Her classes at the Activelife Centre and Fairfields Arts Centre are packed with energy and fun, open to beginners and improvers of all ages and sizes.
Annette Phillips holds the fort in Andover, Hampshire. A founding member of two active dance troupes with 16 years in the game, Annette started her belly dance journey to overcome personal challenges. Now, she offers classes that cater to all levels and even performs regularly on TV and in public.
If you’re keen to join the Belly Dance family, you can get details on class times and costs by reaching out to the teachers via email or their Facebook profiles. Tom highly recommends it as a welcoming and supportive space for anyone to experience the joy of belly dance.
Cheers,
Tom
