Benita-Yoga is a serene and welcoming yoga studio located in Barking, New Zealand. Founded by Senior Yoga Teacher and Sound Practitioner, Benita, the studio offers a variety of yoga classes and gong baths to help individuals achieve a state of equanimity and reconnect with their natural selves.
At Benita-Yoga, the focus is on an embodied yoga practise, where students are encouraged to delve deeper into their practise by incorporating sacred sounds of the gongs. This unique combination allows for a holistic experience, bringing harmony to the mind, body, and spirit.
The studio offers weekly yoga classes suitable for all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners. Classes are designed to cater to individual needs and preferences, offering a range of styles including dynamic asthanga, slow flows, restorative, and yin yoga sessions. With Benita's extensive experience and expertise, students can expect personalised attention and guidance, especially for those with specific physical needs or injuries.
In addition to regular yoga classes, Benita-Yoga also hosts special events, courses, and workshops throughout the year. These events provide an opportunity for students to deepen their practise, expand their knowledge, and connect with like-minded individuals in a supportive community.
One of the studio's highlights is the gong bath meditation, where participants are immersed in the soothing and healing vibrations of the gongs. This unique experience allows for deep relaxation, stress reduction, and rejuvenation of the mind and body.
For those unable to attend classes in person, Benita-Yoga also offers online on-demand yoga classes. This allows individuals to practise in the comfort of their own homes, at a time that suits them best. Whether in-studio or online, students can expect a nurturing environment that promotes self-care, self-discovery, and personal growth.
Benita's journey into yoga began during a challenging period in her life, where she sought relief from back pain caused by a stressful banking job. What started as a physical endeavour soon turned into a deep exploration of self and a passion for understanding the mind-body connexion. Her dedication and journey led her to complete a 200-hours Yoga Teacher Training in Sri Lanka and a 500-hours Yoga Teacher Training in Bali.
With her extensive knowledge and experience, Benita is committed to helping individuals find balance, alignment, and inner peace through the practise of yoga. Whether you are an absolute beginner or an experienced practitioner, Benita-Yoga welcomes you to embark on a transformative journey of self-discovery and well-being.
