Get in touch with the Bethany McKeand School of Dance and discover the joy of dance. Located in Woking, at the Holy Trinity Church Hall in Knaphill, our dance school offers a range of classes for children, young adults, and even beginners in tap dancing.

At the Bethany McKeand School of Dance, our goal is to help everyone find joy in dancing. Our friendly and creative dance classes provide children and young adults with the opportunity to challenge themselves, have fun, and discover their full potential. With classes in Cecchetti Classical Ballet, Tap, Modern, and Contemporary dance, students are able to choose their favourite style or explore multiple styles to enjoy the physical and creative benefits of dance.

Ballet classes are available for children aged two and a half and above. These classes take a creative approach to introduce young children to the world of ballet, focusing on developing musicality, performance skills, and technique. The classes follow the Cecchetti method of classical ballet, ensuring expressive, precise, and musical training. As students progress, they have the chance to participate in ISTD Cecchetti Ballet examinations, combining discipline with enjoyment.

For children aged five and above, our Contemporary dance classes incorporate influences from jazz, modern, and contemporary dance to enhance technique, creativity, and versatility. This class can be enjoyed as a hobby or as a stepping stone for students looking to pursue dance training further. Our Tap dance classes creatively teach students important tap vocabulary and allow them to explore exciting rhythms and patterns. In Modern, Contemporary, and Tap classes, students perform dance steps, phrases, and longer sequences to popular music, improving their performance skills, strength, fitness, and ability to pick up dance combinations.

In addition to examinations, we encourage students to audition for schemes such as the Cecchetti Junior and Senior Associates, reaching beyond the classroom to enhance their skills. Creative opportunities, such as choreography competitions, are also available to allow students to pursue their strengths and interests. Throughout the year, the Bethany McKeand School of Dance organises exciting events, including workshops and performances that leave a lasting impression.

Term dates are available for the Autumn, Spring, and Summer terms, allowing students to plan their classes accordingly. Half-term breaks provide an opportunity for students to refresh and recharge.
