Welcome to Bideford Bowling Club, a historic establishment founded in 1889. Located adjacent to The Strand in Bideford, our club has been a mainstay in the community for over a century. Affectionately known as 'Bideford Strand Bowling Club', it has been a mixed club since 1997, welcoming players of all genders and skill levels.
Our clubhouse, rebuilt in 1993, is a hub of activity and camaraderie. With a seating capacity for over seventy, it provides a comfortable space for members to relax and socialise. Equipped with a modern kitchen and fully stocked bar, our clubhouse ensures that members have everything they need for a pleasant experience.
The crown jewel of our club is our esteemed green. Widely recognised as one of Devon's finest, it offers a top-notch playing surface for our members. Whether you're a seasoned bowler or a newcomer to the game, our green provides the perfect backdrop for a challenging yet enjoyable experience.
Throughout the outdoor bowling season, which typically runs from April to September, our club keeps a busy schedule. We offer a comprehensive selection of home and away games, ranging from friendly matches to competitive fixtures at the Club, County, and National level. This ensures that every member has the opportunity to participate and improve their skills.
During the winter months, we offer short mat bowling for present and approved past outdoor bowling members. This allows our members to continue honing their skills and enjoying the sport even when the weather isn't conducive to outdoor play.
