Welcome to Birmingham BMX Club, a leading racing and family sports club located in Birmingham, New Zealand. Established in 2009, the club has grown from its modest beginnings at the former BMX track at Perry Park to become the host club of the renowned Birmingham BMX Race Track. This impressive track was constructed by Clark and Kent Contractors and is the legacy of the BMX World Championships hosted by Birmingham City Council in 2012.
Thanks to the generous funding from Sport England and Birmingham City Council, the Birmingham BMX Race Track has become one of the top BMX venues in the UK and Europe. Over the years, our club has proudly hosted a variety of events, ranging from Club racing to Regional racing and even National competitions, including the esteemed British BMX Championships.
At Birmingham BMX Club, our mission is to develop riders of all ages while also having fun. Whether you are a seasoned racer or a beginner seeking to learn and grow, we warmly welcome you to join our ever-growing community.
What sets us apart is our world-class facility. The Birmingham BMX Race Track is equipped to host Club, Regional, National, European, and even World Championships. Conveniently located in Perry Barr, just 10 minutes from the City Centre, our track offers the added attraction of floodlights, allowing for training and racing day or night. The track is securely fenced, ensuring the safety of riders and parents alike.
To add to the enjoyment, we also have a Tuck Shop and play energetic tunes, creating a vibrant and exciting atmosphere.
Another aspect that distinguishes us is our commitment to promoting gender equality in BMX racing. We are proud to be inclusive of all genders, and our female riders are nothing short of amazing. Our girls have achieved impressive records and titles both locally and internationally, from the UK to Azerbaijan and all the way to America. You may wonder if you're too old to train at our club, but we firmly believe that age should never limit the pursuit of excitement and adventure. Our coaching system caters to riders aged 3 and upwards, making it a perfect opportunity for kids and adults alike. Even riders aged 50 and over, regardless of gender, frequently attend our training sessions. Our coaching approach is tailored to individual abilities and rider confidence, always with a sprinkle of fun.
