BJJ TASMANIA

BJJ Tasmania, also known as BJJ Taz, is a family-oriented training centre for the grappling art of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Located in Launceston, Tasmania, it was founded by Brad Lowe and proudly belongs to the Maromba Academia Australia Jiu Jitsu Team. The school is dedicated to bringing top-quality instructors from across Australia and around the world to teach and improve Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Tasmania.

At BJJ Tasmania, the coaching team comprises highly skilled black belts. Head Coach Brad Lowe holds a 2nd-degree black belt, while others on the team include Kane Brewer, Stu Davidson, Frank Nadler, and Kieryn Wright, all of whom hold black belts. These experienced instructors are committed to creating a welcoming and enjoyable environment for students of all ages and skill levels.

With a focus on technique rather than brute force, BJJ Tasmania offers a variety of gi and no-gi Jiu-Jitsu classes suitable for the whole family. The academy boasts a large timetable to accommodate different schedules and interests. Additionally, the school frequently hosts seminars with national and international instructors, enhancing the learning experience and promoting the evolution of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu in Tasmania.

The club emphasises a team-based approach to learning, where members support and encourage each other. Students are encouraged to ask questions at appropriate times and laughter and enjoyment are valued during training sessions. BJJ Tasmania believes in the principle of “leaving your ego at the door” to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

BJJ Tasmania has excellent facilities to support its training programmes. The academy features 117 square metres of mat space, ensuring ample room for students to practise their techniques safely. The training area is equipped with air conditioning and heating to maintain a comfortable environment throughout the year. Members also have the convenience of ample free parking at the front door or across the street.

Male and female changing rooms, complete with showers, are available for students' convenience.
