About
Paul Kelly’s Blackburn Skatepark, located in Murrayfield Park, Bathgate, is a prime spot for skaters. Designed by Wheelscape, it offers a concrete playground since its opening in 2014.
The park starts with a versatile bowl featuring a thin rectangular section doubling as a mini ramp, connecting to a wider oververt section. On the back side, a shallow bowled edge flows into the street run. This run includes a flat bank leading to a euro gap, stairs, rail, and hubbas. Further along, skaters find a pump bump and hipped bank with a flat bank return ramp.
Next to this run is another path with an up and down ledge and kicker, leading to a speed bowl with an extension and a taco at the end.
Blackburn Skatepark's efficient design maximises space, offering a mix of obstacles for street and transition skaters of all levels.
Open to the public, the park’s timings vary. Located on Ash Grove, Blackburn, West Lothian, the nearest bus stop is at the Police Station on East Main Street, making it accessible by bus or taxi.
This skatepark is part of The Skateparks Project, which supports communities in building skateparks and offers the UK's largest skatepark directory.
