Blacklands Fishing is a picturesque fishing camp located in Henfield, West Sussex. Situated on the grounds of Blacklands Farm, the camp offers anglers the opportunity to fish in a beautiful natural setting, with a lake and four ponds available for coarse fishing.
The camp operates on the principle that fishing is exclusively available to those who have booked to stay on the campsite. Walk-ins are not permitted, ensuring a serene and secluded fishing experience. However, during the off-peak season from November 4th, 2023, until the May Bank Holiday, the reception itself is closed. Despite this, anglers currently staying on the campsite can still enjoy fishing by following the instructions found at the reception area to obtain and pay for fishing day tickets.
For the summer of 2024, all anglers, including campers, are required to visit the reception to purchase day tickets before setting up on a swim. It is important to note that fishing tickets are not available to buy directly from the warden or reserve online at present. Swims are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis on the day, ensuring fairness and equal opportunities for all anglers.
Campers looking to fish do not need to reserve a swim in advance. They can simply purchase their fishing day tickets at reception on the actual days they wish to fish. Swim availability is usually adequate to accommodate all campers looking to fish on any given date.
Non-campers or day visitors who wish to fish at Blacklands Fishing should check with the campsite before their planned attendance. They can contact the campsite directly on weekdays between 8 am and 5 pm to make arrangements.
It is significant for every angler aged 13 and over to have their own rod licence, as required by law. Anglers must obtain their rod licences in advance of fishing at Blacklands Fishing. Licences can be purchased online or in person at the post office. Anglers will be asked to produce their rod licences when purchasing day tickets.
Failure to do so will result in the refusal of fishing rights.
The campsite's regular fishing hours are from 7 am to dusk daily. Unfortunately, night fishing is currently not available.
Day ticket charges for fishing at Blacklands Fishing are 12 per adult, allowing the use of up to two rods. Juniors, defined as persons under 16 years old, are charged 10 per person, also allowing the use of up to two rods. It is significant to note that each paying angler must pay the per person day ticket rate, regardless of whether they share a rod with another angler.
Blacklands Fishing does not provide rental or purchase options for fishing equipment. Anglers are responsible for bringing their own rods and other fishing gear.
