Welcome to Blackstone Clydesdales, located in Cumnock, Scotland. Blackstone Clydesdales is a farm, carriage ride service, horse breeder, horse riding field, and tourist attraction all rolled into one. Our aim is to share our passion and knowledge of Clydesdale Horses with visitors like you.
Established in 2010, Blackstone Clydesdale Centre is situated on our working Highland Beef Farm. We provide a safe and loving home for our growing Scottish rare breed family of Clydesdale Horses. When you visit us, you will have the opportunity to experience the magic of these magnificent animals, learn about their lives on the farm, and witness them in their forever home.
” The Clydesdale Experience at Blackstone” was born in 2011 when we opened our doors to the public. We believe that without the support of visitors like you, we would not be able to care for our beautiful Clydesdales and farm residents.
To ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience, we kindly request that all visitors pre-book their experiences in advance. Please do not visit the farm without an appointment or booking, as you will be disappointed. Please note that the farm is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, as well as during the months of January and February.
At Blackstone Clydesdales, we offer a variety of experiences tailored to you and your party. Whether you want to cuddle, ride, or carriage drive, our farm is the perfect place. Additionally, we offer Clydesdale Horse rides off the farm for existing riders at our local beach, Dumfries House Estate, and Boswell Estate.
During your visit, you'll have the opportunity to groom, cuddle, muck out, tack up, feed, ride, or drive your Clydesdale Horse. You'll also have the chance to interact with all the farm animals and gain insight into their daily lives. For those who solely wish to experience riding the Clydesdale Horse, we offer rides at the beach or on our farm specifically designed for non or novice riders.
One of our popular experiences is the Blackstone Farm Ride, which lasts one or two hours. This private ride allows you to groom, assist in tacking up, or simply enjoy the ride on your own or with friends and family. It is suitable for non, novice, and experienced riders.
If you're looking for a longer trek, we offer the Boswell Estate Ride, which can be two, three, or four hours. You'll have the opportunity to explore the local Boswell Estate pathways, steeped in generations of history. For those seeking an adrenaline rush, you can even gallop through the open fields. Finish off the ride with a light lunch, cake, and coffee at Boswells Coachhouse Coffee House.
This ride is suitable for existing, competent riders at all paces/gaits.
Another option is the Dumfries House Woodland Estate Ride, which lasts three or four hours. The scenic trek starts at Blackstone Farm and takes you through the local town and Dumfries House Estate pathways. Enjoy the beautiful scenery and varying pace as you ride back to the farm.
For a unique experience, try our Clydesdale Beach Ride. Spend two hours riding our beautiful Clydesdales on the sand and in the sea at our local beach. Take in the stunning views of the Island of Arran and Greenan Castle.
If you're looking for something different, we offer DIG-a-Day at Blackstone Farm. You can have a one, two, or three-hour private digger experience on your own or with friends and family. Get your hands on our big toys, including mini to 22-tonne muck shifters, and experience some serious fun.
