Welcome to Bodhimaya Pilates Centre, located in Bondi Junction. Established in 1999, our studio has been a proud part of the Bondi Beach community since 2002. Our small, cosy studio provides a welcoming and inclusive environment for all individuals looking to enhance their physical wellbeing.
Curious about our name? Bodhimaya is a composite word that holds deep meaning. 'Bodhi' is a Sanskrit word that signifies awakening or enlightenment, and it is also the tree under which Siddhartha Gautama achieved enlightenment. 'Maya' has various interpretations in different languages, one being 'Mother'.
In Advaita Vedic philosophy, maya symbolises the illusion of transitory physical reality that obstructs our spiritual reality. Additionally, our studio pays homage to the great soul, poet, and author Maya Angelou.
Our team is dedicated to helping you on your Pilates journey. Chrystene Carroll, the founder of Bodhimaya Pilates Centre, leads a group of experienced and qualified instructors who are passionate about helping others achieve their fitness goals. We believe that success is not only about achieving physical goals but also about loving oneself and how one goes about achieving those goals.
