This led him to join a Muay Thai gym where he had his first fight and quickly rose through the ranks to become one of Australia's finest fighters. Over the span of 12 years, Eugene accumulated an impressive record of 68 fights and secured the prestigious WMC belt, which he successfully defended six times.

Having achieved his career goal of facing off against John Wayne Parr in the Eastern States, Eugene retired from professional fighting at the age of 33. He then dedicated himself to teaching, imparting his vast knowledge and experience to the next generation of fighters.
