Bothwell Wanderers

Bothwell Wanderers is a sports club located in the Central Highlands Council of Australia. The club is dedicated to promoting an active lifestyle and fostering a sense of community among its members.

Every week, on Tuesdays at 9:15 am, the club organises a walking group that is open to all interested individuals. The group consists of 5 members and walks at a slow pace, making it accessible for people of all fitness levels. The duration of the walks is typically 45–60 minutes, providing a moderate workout for participants.

The walking group is led by an experienced organiser named Dianne, who ensures that the walks are enjoyable and safe for everyone involved. The meeting point for the group is the CWA Rooms on Alexander Street in Bothwell.

Although the club is primarily focused on walking, it welcomes individuals with prams to join the group. The routes chosen for the walks are pram and wheelchair-friendly, allowing parents with young children to participate without any difficulties.

Bothwell Wanderers is not a dog-friendly club, but it creates a supportive and inclusive environment for all members. The club believes in the power of walking as a beneficial and accessible form of exercise. Regular walking has been proven to lower the risk of heart disease, stroke, and diabetes, as well as manage weight, blood pressure, and cholesterol levels.
