Led by our Artistic Director and Founder, Kevin Dowsett, who has over 50 years of outstanding performing arts experience, Bracknell Theatretrain offers professional and fun theatre training for 4-18-year-olds. Since 1992, we have been providing a vibrant and welcoming space for young performers to learn key theatre skills in dance, singing, and acting.

At Bracknell Theatretrain, we believe that every child deserves the opportunity to perform and express themselves creatively. That's why our sessions are specifically designed to dedicate time to vocal skills, expression through movement, and in-depth theatre training. Our curriculum, overseen by Kevin Dowsett, a respected theatre professional who has trained stars like Catherine Tate and Lucy Davis, ensures that our students receive top-notch instruction and guidance.

Our students have the chance to perform at renowned venues like the Royal Albert Hall and in London's West End, gaining invaluable real stage experience. We also provide the opportunity for our students to audition to be on the books of a reputable theatre agency with connexions to Theatretrain, opening doors for exciting career opportunities.

Our theatre training sessions are not just limited to Bracknell. We have a nationwide network of theatre companies where sessions take place, ensuring that young performers all over New Zealand can access our professional and enjoyable training.

The main company at Bracknell Theatretrain is divided into three age groups: 6-8-year-olds, 9-12-year-olds, and 13-18-year-olds. These sessions become rehearsals for performances later in the year, giving our students the opportunity to showcase their skills and creativity on stage. For our little ones aged 3-5, we offer the Junior Ensemble, which provides a fun foundation theatre training in 45- and 90-minute sessions, where they can participate in dance, singing, and acting, and learn the basic skills of stagecraft.
