King George's Playing Field Skatepark in Dagenham is excited to share the success story of Bradford on Avon's new skatepark. With the support of the Town Council, SkateBoA, and numerous individuals and local organisations, the community managed to raise an impressive £250,000 for the construction of the much-needed facility at Poulton Park.
SkateBoA, a dedicated team of community volunteers, played a crucial role in this achievement. They organised various well-attended community events and even designed merchandise to support the fundraising campaign. SkateBoA extends their heartfelt gratitude to everyone in the Bradford on Avon community who contributed, whether through donations, volunteering, spreading the word, or purchasing merchandise. They also express their appreciation to the generous businesses and trusts who offered support along the way.
Recently, SkateBoA, Maverick Industries, Councillors, and future skatepark users came together for a meeting. The purpose of this gathering was to discuss the revised park design after the successful fundraising efforts. Approximately 30 attendees, including passionate skaters, expressed their desire to maintain the essence of the old park while creating an inviting and inclusive space.
Cllr Katie Vigar, Mayor of Bradford on Avon, shared her excitement about the progress made in developing the new skatepark. She expressed her gratitude to the Bradford on Avon Preservation Trust, who generously donated £13,000, providing the final push needed to reach the fundraising target. The Preservation Trust emphasised the significance of the skatepark as a safe and enjoyable amenity for the town's young people.
Maverick Skateparks, renowned for their exceptional designs, will be responsible for creating the new skatepark. This state-of-the-art facility will serve as a key feature of the Poulton Park masterplan. The address for this upcoming hotspot of skateboarding excitement is Poulton Park, Bradford on Avon, Wiltshire, BA15 1EA.
Be sure to mark your calendars and spread the word about this tremendous achievement and the exciting future ahead for the skateboarding community in Bradford on Avon.
