Breakaway Horse Riders Club Inc.

Miss Rodeo Australia competition, attracted over 300 riders from all over Queensland. It was on this ride that Graeme Cameron and John Fry met and realised their common interest in trail horse riding.

From this meeting, a group of people began to organise and promote regular trail rides in the Mackay District. They initially called themselves The Breakaway Trail Horse Riding Club, and later changed their name to Breakaway Horse Riders Club Inc.

Since its inception in 1986, Breakaway Horse Riders Club Inc. has been dedicated to promoting Trail Riding and Endurance in the Mackay District in Queensland. The club has a rich history of 31 years, during which they have organised numerous rides and events, making friends along the way and creating unforgettable memories.

In 2016, in celebration of their 30 years of endurance, the club unveiled a revamped logo that captures their passion for trail riding and the bush. The logo features a rider's bib number, representing the 30 years of endurance that the club has had.

Breakaway Horse Riders Club Inc. organises a variety of events throughout the year, including moonlight and day rides, various camps, endurance rides, teampenning, and education clinics. They are also planning a 5-day moving ride on the Bicentennial National Trail this year, offering plenty of opportunities for quality riding and fun.

The club is committed to making riding more enjoyable and encouraging junior riders to be involved. They have a vision to keep finding ways to enhance the riding experience and create a welcoming environment for riders of all ages.
