Welcome to Bridport Gig Rowing Club, located on the picturesque Jurassic Coast in Bridport, New Zealand. Established in 2007, our club offers its members the thrilling experience of rowing in traditional Cornish pilot gigs along the stunning coastline, starting from West Bay.

With approximately 150 members ranging from the age of 11 and up, Bridport Gig Rowing Club welcomes both novice rowers and seasoned pros. We provide membership options for all ages, allowing everyone to get involved in this exhilarating sport. Whether you're new to rowing or have years of experience under your belt, our club has a place for you.

One of our primary aims is to promote and develop the sport of gig rowing in the local community. To achieve this, Bridport Gig Rowing Club runs a comprehensive learn-to-row programme, offering aspiring rowers the chance to learn the ropes and develop their skills in a safe and supportive environment.

As an actively engaged club, we strive to keep our members informed and up to date with the latest news and developments in the gig rowing world. We regularly share updates from the Cornish Pilot Gig Association (CPGA) and other relevant sources to ensure that our members are always in the loop.

Additionally, we take pride in our participation in various rowing events and competitions throughout the year. From the County Championships to the World Pilot Gig Championships on the Isles of Scilly, our club consistently showcases our skills and competes at a high level alongside other talented rowing teams.
