Introducing new sailors to racing. The RS 200 Dinghy is a popular fleet at Cheddar reservoir, while the Solo Fleet Racing is known for being one of the most competitive dinghy classes at the club. Team 15 Windsurfing has also been a national champion club multiple times.

Members of the Bristol Corinthian Yacht Club (BCYC) can take advantage of craft hire, including dinghies, stand-up paddleboards (SUPs), kayaks, and windsurfers. The club owns a fleet of Topper and Tera dinghies, perfect for those looking to try out sailing for the first time. Furthermore, there are Wednesday evening and Sunday handicap racing events for members to participate in.

BCYC isn't just for adults, as they also offer programmes for junior sailors. The Warrior Club is a Junior Racing Programme designed to help kids progress their sailing skills and have fun on the water. Additionally, there are taster sessions available for kayaking and windsurfing, allowing non-members to experience the thrill of these sports.

For those interested in lessons and courses, BCYC offers RYA taster sessions and courses for windsurfing and sailing. These sessions are available throughout the summer, with seven days a week access to windsurfing at Cheddar Reservoir. Adult sailing courses are also available, as well as SUP yoga sessions for those seeking a more relaxing experience on the water.

BCYC has had the pleasure of hosting world-class sailors on Cheddar Reservoir, such as Bettine Harris, who was named British Youth Sailor of the Year. The club takes pride in its ability to introduce newcomers to the sport of sailing, while also supporting experienced sailors in their pursuit of championships.
