The Broadway Sequence Dancing Club, led by Brenda Deane, is all about Modern Sequence Dancing at The Raeburn Hall in Tolworth. If you're into "Strictly Come Dancing" and fancy a relaxed version without the fancy flips, this is the place for you.
The club gets together every Monday from 8:00 to 10:30 pm, except in August and on Bank Holidays. You'll find them at Tolworth United Reformed Church on Elgar Avenue. It’s just £7 a night, including tea or coffee and biscuits, and there's a £5 annual fee.
They've got a range of dances from waltz to rumba, and they keep it straightforward with standard 16-bar routines. Got over 150 CDs in their collection, featuring a mix of hits and classic tunes.
Every fourth week, they introduce a new dance and guide everyone through it, giving you plenty of chances to practice. Can't make Mondays or want extra time on the dance floor? They’ve got a similar gig on Thursday evenings in Molesey.
With a history in the Invention Dance Competitions and a stash of prize-winning dances, it’s clear they know their stuff. Basic ballroom and Latin steps help, but Brenda and the experienced dancers are always there to lend a hand.
For more details, give Brenda a call at 020 8890 0233 or drop an email at bkdeane@hotmail.co.uk. Check out their website for FAQs, updates, and event details.
Newbies are always welcome to pop in and try out the dances for free, no strings attached. Whether you're a dancing pro or just starting out, the Broadway Sequence Dancing Club promises a fun and friendly night out. Join in for some great dance moves and good company!
